Main classification of production materials for the Chinese sand table model
- Apr 02, 2018 -

The beautiful sand table model we see is a combination of creativity and realism. You look at the sand table model and it seems to be rigorous, but it is by no means a simple copy. It is a material, a process, a color, an idea. The combination. The sand table shows people a three-dimensional visual image in its unique form. Sandbox model production materials can be divided into the following categories.

Plastic materials:

Plastics are made of natural resins or artificial synthetic resins as the main component, and added with appropriate additives such as fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, lubricants, pigments, etc., and they are molded under certain temperatures and pressures. Polymer Materials. As a material widely used in model making, plastics have excellent performance, light weight, electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, etc., easy to process and shape, with a decorative and modern texture, and a wide variety of plastics, the main varieties have five More than a dozen, the most widely used model production is thermoplastic plastics, mainly polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene, ABS engineering plastics, organic glass sheet, foam plastic sheet and so on. Polyvinyl chloride has low heat resistance and can be molded by various methods such as compression molding, blow molding, and die casting. ABS engineering plastics have a low melting point and are easily heated by electric ovens, electric ovens, etc. They can be hot pressed and connected to a variety of complex shapes. Organic glass has the characteristics of good light, light weight, high strength, colorful, easy processing, etc. It is easy to preserve after molding. “Plastics substitutes for steel” and “plastic substitutes for wood” make plastic quickly become an equally important basic material with steel and non-ferrous metals.

Wood materials:

Wood materials are the most commonly used materials in building modelling. From the base to the exquisitely decorated workpieces such as sticks, the wood is well processed for its robust, dimensionally stable characteristics. The advantages of wood materials are delicate materials, clear texture, extremely natural expression, and easy processing. The disadvantages of wood materials are: strong moisture absorption and easy deformation. The wood we use is generally the original wood and artificial board after secondary processing. Artificial boards often have plywood, particle board, blockboard, medium density fiberboard and so on. The modelling of furniture is often made of wood.

Paper materials:

Paper materials are the most basic and simple model making tools and they are widely used by everyone. The raw materials of paper are mainly plant fibers. In addition to the three major components of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, the raw materials also contain a small amount of resin, ash, and the like. According to the thickness and weight of the paper is divided into paper and cardboard. Paper with a weight of 200 g/m2 or less is generally referred to as paper, and the above is referred to as paperboard. The material can be changed by cutting or folding the original shape; a variety of different textures can be produced by wrinkling; the inherent color of the material can be changed by rendering, which has strong plasticity.

Clay material:

Wide range of clay materials available for convenient and low cost After “washing mud” process and “smelting and ripening process, its texture is more delicate. Clay has a certain degree of adhesiveness and plasticity, and can be repeatedly modified during the shaping process and adjusted arbitrarily. It is more convenient to repair, scrape, fill, and fill in. It can also be used repeatedly, and it is an ideal modeling material, but if the moisture in the clay is lost too much, the clay model will easily shrink, crack or even break, which is not conducive to In addition, there are not many methods for effect treatment on the surface of clay model, so it is necessary to use a small amount of sediment when making clay model, and it is necessary to process it repeatedly before use, and it is convenient to use it. Sculptures and molds are used in mud.

Sludge is a man-made material. After solidification, it is extremely soft, soft and hard. Slurry has strong plasticity, and its viscosity and toughness are stronger than that of yellow mud (clay model). It is easy to use when molding, free to sculpt and trim in the molding process, not easy to crack after molding, and can be used repeatedly. Slurry is expensive and easy to carry. It is more suitable to make some small, irregular and curved surfaces. It is generally very convenient to use oil sludge like car or boat. Therefore, it is a wise choice to use brown oil sludge as the outermost layer of sludge. The main components of the sludge are talcum powder 62%, vaseline 30%, and industrial wax 8%.

Gypsum is economical, easy to use and used in ceramics, plastics, and model making. The plaster is delicate in texture and can be easily repaired after molding. It is easy to store for a long time and is suitable for making various required models for display display.

Metal materials:

Metal materials are most commonly used for steel materials, such as various specifications of steel, pipes, plates, and sometimes small amounts of other metal materials such as aluminum alloys. The production of metal model materials mainly considers factors such as mechanical properties and costs. The mechanical properties are mainly considered from the aspects of the strength, elasticity, hardness, rigidity of the metal material, and the ability to resist impact stretching. The metal model processing technology mainly includes cutting, welding, casting and forging. Due to the limited processing conditions in the laboratory, there are fewer metal model processes.

The materials chosen for the model making are sometimes not just a single material, but may be two or more. The above materials have been produced by comprehensive processing, but they are still based on one material. Others are only partially used. The model thus produced has a good overall feeling and the decoration of the later stage is also convenient. Like a plaster-engraved telephone, the above display window will use transparent plexiglass, and can scrape some pictures on the reverse side to achieve a realistic effect. There are buttons to select some plexiglass round bars, and then The work section cut out the same size, thickness and thickness of the button, making it work well. There are some other materials, such as fiberglass, foam, and so on.
